Flying the flag for export success
Earlsdon Technology is celebrating its first export order to the United States after selling two automatic drilling and broaching machines to the Salt Lake City plant of SPS Technologies Inc. The machines will be used to produce a range of aerospace fasteners at a rate of approximately 1100 parts per hour. Earlsdon Technology Ltd specialises in custom-built machines for producers of aerospace, automotive and other high volume parts.
Overseas customers account for more than 50% of turnover with other recent other exports to Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, and China.
Simon West said “The US order was secured after supplying 6 similar machines to SPS Technologies UK subsidiary in Leicester. We have built up a strong relationship with their engineers after successfully completing 18 projects for them in the past 3 years. The US engineers came over for pre-delivery trials and were impressed both with the machines and our commitment, so hopefully we can build on that success and secure more orders”.
